“What is Sacred Dance”
Sacred Dance, also known as circle dance, is a blend of traditional and choreographed dances which bring communities and people together.
The dances can be holistic and mediative in nature. They also create a fun loving environment for people to experience their own energy and physical movements. Small movements which we take are sometimes an example of life and let us question how we can go deeply into bringing awareness to our inner and outer being.
Sacred Dance in the Findhorn Community
As a dance teacher in the Findhorn Spiritual and Eco Village Community I teach on some Wednesday nights a mix of dances from around the world. I teach with a view to letting people heal and enjoy the freedom movement brings, no matter the limitation. I believe even sitting movements accompanied with music can help heal the soul.
Our community has a lot of great dance teachers who have different styles from traditional Greek to the more traditional Scottish country dances. We really are spoilt for choice!
