About the Seated Serenade Sessions
The Seated Serenade: Movement, Connection, and Community
Dance is a powerful bridge builder, a sacred space where we breathe together and connect as one community. The Seated Serenade sessions, thoughtfully curated by Brant Bambery & Anne Crowe, invite you into this transformative experience.
Anne, an experienced dance teacher, has partnered with Brant to cultivate a welcoming, supportive hub. Together, they have created a space where participants can learn seated dance, gaining tools to bring these joyful movements back to their own community circles.
Why Seated Dance?
Seated dance offers a gentle, low impact, and highly accessible way to experience the rhythm of life.
These sessions are designed to enhance:
- Physical Health: Improving cardio health, strength, and mobility.
- Emotional Wellbeing: Reducing isolation through shared creative expression.
- Inclusion: Every movement is adaptable, ensuring people of all ability levels can participate in the joy of the “spirit of dance.”
“These sessions celebrate inclusion and creativity, offering a sense of healing, belonging, and shared experience to people of all abilities.”

Anne Crowe
Anne has been teaching and choreographing sacred circle dance for 26 years. “Dance brings me into a space that is ancient.” Many of Anne’s dances can be simple and others complex. “I am drawn to dances that speak to the human condition.”
Anne has taught in Chatham, Ontario, Canada for many years. It has also been her pleasure to teach in New Hampshire, U.S.A., British Columbia, and Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada.
In 2005, Anne (a Sacred Circle teacher) was invited to teach Seated Dances at an assisted living facility. “I noticed that when the participants moved to the music that they were smiling. There was joy.”
Anne soon began teaching Seated Dances to residents with Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s. “I eventually took the program into local hospitals, Brain Injury Association and nursing homes.
“It has been a great opportunity to bring music and movement to others in a different way.”
