Dear Dancer,

This morning after a refreshing walk in the crisp Scottish air along the river, a beautiful poem by Rumi came to mind…

The Morning Breeze
The morning breeze has secrets to tell you.
Don’t go back to sleep.
Rumi

While doing some breathing exercises, I found myself reflecting on how short and precious life is. The birds around me seemed to echo that thought, their songs a gentle reminder. They flitted by, pausing now and then to see why I was sitting in the forest. Their little eyes darted around, maybe wondering if I had a scrap of food to offer.

As I refocused on my breath, I noticed one bird had stopped and stayed still, quietly watching me. In that moment, I felt a sense of trust a reminder to come back to the present, back to the breath. With that, I felt calm and ready to keep walking.

I always find the birds a good reminder of how to live lightly and stay curious.

Last night
It was also so nice last night to visit the dances of Colin Harrison and Phil Smyth, two very good teachers who sadly recently passed. Their influence is still felt, and their dances live on in us. Thank you to everyone who commented and emailed with their stories it feels like a glimpse into the history for me.

Our dancers brought such lovely energy, last night. Sonia and her group added a beautiful couples dance, lovely to have a circle on zoom.  I had so much fun dancing with Yvonne and Kunie, I love an “Andro”. Stefan’s dance was a sweet dance very tender, and Katharina’s music for “Wind on the Tor” was particularly moving, I really enjoyed it. I was also in the mood for a meditative dances so Patricia’s dance was just right.

Exciting News!
I’ve been invited to dance with a new group in Rugby at the May Blossom Farm, a wonderful community in Warwickshire. I’d love for some of you to join us at these sessions, two in the town of Rugby (Link below)  and one at the farm on Mayday (I will keep you informed), where we’ll have a Ceilidh outside around a maypole. I can’t wait, and I hope you can come along! info is here. Also, the next “The Centrepiece” is in March on 22nd . Details are on my events page along with other upcoming events.  presenters will be added to this page in the coming weeks – here

As we get back to Findhorn Sacred Dance open sessions next Saturday 1st Febuary, I’m looking forward to some teaching some original Findhorn dances I haven’t danced in a while.

Below is a video of Celtic music to relax with I hope you enjoy it.I look forward to dance with you very soon!

Hugs from Scotland,
Brant
