Dear Dancers,
It has been a wonderful week of dancing and connecting with the local community. Today, I helped set up a stage to host our Accordion and Fiddle club’s special guest, the incredible accordion player Brandon McPhee, what a treat to experience such amazing musicianship!Tuesday’s group was a delight, revisiting some dances we haven’t done in a while, including the lyrical Armenian dances and “The Crane”, beautifully taught by Francesca. On Saturday, We also had a lovely group session in The Universal Hall on Saturday morning with some classic repotiore.
The weather in Scotland has been shifting between warmth and sudden cold, a reminder never to put away my winter jacket too soon! On recent evening walks, I was lucky to see three young deer up close, they were so absorbed in their grazing that they didn’t notice me until I was just a few feet away.
The changing sky has been just as mesmerising, transitioning from fiery oranges and yellows to deep blues and blacks. The river feels calmer at night, and I find peace in watching the colours shift.With this in mind, I’d love to invite you to our next The Centrepiece Session on March 22nd. We’ll be dancing with spring in our step under the aurora sky (the Northern Lights) which have been gracing us recently! Let’s move like the aurora and welcome the season with joy…

He will be sharing two dances that work beautifully in an online setting. Looking ahead, I’ll be traveling to Germany the week after The Centrepiece for deepening training with Freidel and Saskia Kloke. It’s always a special experience to dance with this group, and I look forward to sharing more about my journey with you all.
