Saturday 27th September 2025@ 19:30pm  UK TIME

Dear Dancers,

It’s been a hot and beautiful few months here in Scotland, perhaps the warmest stretch I can remember in recent times! This past weekend was especially warm, and we really felt it while dancing out on the green during our Saturday slot here in Findhorn.  I’ll be teaching again at the same spot on the 26th of this month, and I look forward to seeing many of you there….soLets dance within our gorse haven!

Recently, I was fortunate to attend a deepening weekend in Germany with Friedel and Saskia. I really appreciated the depth of the experience and thoroughly enjoyed several beautiful dances. One in particular stood out to me, “Pilgrimage”, a truly moving piece. I’ve kept my notes and plan to revisit it this week. It’s one of those dances that grabs hold of me, and when that happens, I know it’s going into my repertoire, it becomes part of the family.

Soon after returning from Germany, I jumped into the role of stage manager for the Findhorn Sacred Dance Festival, where I also had the joy of teaching a few dances throughout the weekend. One highlight was “Through the Eyes of Love” with Barbara Swetina on accordion, what a special moment to co create with her.

I had the pleasure of teaching “Holy Mother” on Sunday at the festival, Wcdd session which felt just right for the theme and the spirit of the day.

The final evening had a ceilidh theme, which always brings a burst of joy and laughter. There’s something magical about ceilidh dances, they invite people in, no matter their experience, and always leave the room glowing with connection. I feel truly honoured to be part of holding and teaching these dances. We’re waiting for the official photos and videos from the festival to come through, but I’ve shared a few images below to give you a little glimpse.

Saturday night’s The Centrepiece session 54 was a true celebration, a beautiful opportunity to connect with dancers across the globe. It was a real treat to have Gwynn Petardi with us, sharing the story and history of World Circle Dance Day and saying a few meaningful words to mark the occasion.

A special moment for me was dancing to the powerful voice of Kathy Bullock, especially during “Bells of Norwich”.

Thank you to all the presenters who helped make World Circle Dance Day so rich and full of heart. I’ve already seen some videos and photos from groups around the world, it’s such a delight to witness our shared joy in movement and music.
