Hi,

As it’s getting lighter in the evenings and the flowers are cheering everyone up with their bright vibrant colours around the Findhorn community. What better way to make a new start to this summer, with the Findhorn Sacred dance Festival 2019 around the corner, I thought I should launch my new website and blog.

I am looking forward to being once again in festival mode. I love the full week of dancing all day and night and even into the wee early hours with a small dram and live music! The Phoenix Cafe really comes alive and we get to dance with people from every part of the globe. It really is something special.

This years special guest teacher, Renata Ramos from Brazil, is one of the highlights. She is a such a fun, friendly teacher who really cares about people and dance. My first encounter with her was profound and I did come away with such a lot of great dances which I still use at our Wednesday night group. I can’t wait to see what she brings for us this year.

It is also nice to hear that Kicky Anderberg and her band are back playing for us all as well. Their live music really adds to the ambience in the hall. To see more of the musical talent click here

I also know that there are so many new dance things happening in and around the park from contemporary to 5Rhythms. Katharina Kroeber did a lovely Sunday night at the Sunshine Room which introduced us to her Bodytalk and explained how dance can work with this. I loved the traditional dances she chose to bring and it really made me think how we move.

I hear there is no accommodation available at the Findhorn Foundation but there is still time to book for the weeks dance if you can find a hotel nearby. If in doubt try online or Carden Cottages which is within driving distance.

My own workshop, Surrender to Dance, is taking shape and I hope to take a session locally very soon. I am aiming for the Autumn as it seems the year is disappearing fast. Keep checking back as I hope to blog on a regular basis.
