The Centrepiece Sessions

“Live From Community”

Friday 7th July 2023

@ 19:30 UK TIME

Dear Dancers,

What an incredible month, it has been filled with so many unforgettable experiences. From our last Centrepiece gathering to my trip to Brazil for the Encontro Brasiliere 2023, the joy of dance has truly enveloped us. I had the great honour of being invited by Renata Ramos, Andrea Leoncini, Sonia Lima, and their team, and I must say, the warm welcome I received was absolutely heartwarming.

From the moment I stepped off the plane, Brazil embraced me with open arms, and the spirit of dance permeated every moment of my stay.  The sense of connection was incredible, and I instantly felt like part of a big dance family. My soul was at ease, and my heart was open to the wonders that awaited.

Presenting to over 140 people, I was amazed at how comfortable I felt. Dancing and connecting in harmony with friends who share the same love for movement was truly awe-inspiring. Renata and her team’s dedication and 21 years of incredible work were evident in every aspect of the event. Being part of this tapestry of Sacred Dance life was an honour, and I deeply respect and admire all those who have paved the way. Anna Barton was on my mind throughout the journey, and her spirit was ever-present.

During my sessions, I had the pleasure of calling a Ceilidh dance session and two sessions featuring a mix of my favourite dances, including two from my notation booklet “Beyond Beloved”. I even had the opportunity to  present one of  Friedel and Saskia’s new dances, which was truly delightful. To my surprise, I found myself singing to everyone, feeling relaxed and at ease in the moment. The accommodations were comfortable, the food was excellent, and the sunshine was just right during this time of the year.

One of the highlights for me was reconnecting with old friends and new zoom friends. Also having the chance to meet & dance with Fido Wagler with a very special  Kalimatianos, “Rudy, My Love!” It was a deeply special moment that touched my heart. There was electricity in the air.

I also want to express my gratitude to Amanda Hutt for being my wonderful dancing partner during the Scottish dance session. Her professionalism and grace were truly inspiring. And a heartfelt thanks to Frances Rose for the exceptional translation & support throughout the event.

Up next on the agenda is the Findhorn Sacred Dance Festival on July 8th. But before that for all who cannot attend you can join us online, The Centrepiece has a special pre-event on Friday, July 7th, Live from the community. Join us live from The Sunshine Room where we will have fantastic guests online for those who want to connect and dance with us. I can’t wait to infuse a bit of the Brazilian spirit into this session! guest list here

Thank you all for your continuous support and love for dance. It is through these shared experiences that we truly come alive and connect on a deeper level. Let’s keep dancing and spreading the joy of movement throughout the world.

With much excitement and gratitude,

Blessings

Brant

Tatou o tagata folau e vala’auina
E le atua o le sami tele e o mai

Aue, aue
Te fenua, te malie,
Nae ko hakilia mo kaiga e
We read the wind and the sky when the sun is high
We sail the length of the seas on the ocean breeze
At night, we name every star
We know where we are
We know who we are, who we are
