“The Spirit of Winter”

Saturday 25th October 2023

@ 19:30 UK TIME

Dear Dancers,

As the leaves begin to fall and the air turns crisper, it has been a harvesting week for me here in Forres, Scotland. I’ve been blessed with an abundance of apples, tomatoes, and greens from the gardens and farms of generous friends and neighbours. Apples have been cascading from the trees in the park, echoing the changing seasons.

As we transition into the cooler months and move closer to winter, this time of year holds a special place in my heart. I find solace and warmth in the company of dancers, and it’s a reminder of the unity and energy we share. Even as we continue dancing outdoors this month, the promise of cozy indoor gatherings is on the horizon.

Last night’s Harvest of Dances event was a testament to the beauty of our dance community. I cherished every moment spent with you all, surrounded by the captivating performances of our presenters. It was a truly heartwarming experience.

Amanda Huttl taught a beautiful dance choreographed by Nanni Kloke, accompanied by enchanting music. Maureen Bartz Szymczak’s presentation of Bobbi Bailin’s dance was a tender moment, as it was her first time on ‘The Centrepiece,’ and coincidentally, Bobbi Bailin was also presenting ‘The Swallow Dance.’ It struck a chord with me, and I couldn’t resist dancing it twice!

Celia from Canada graced us with her presence, a community circle dance teacher from Canada to join our global dance family, I loved her music! Katharina Kroeber’s “Libra Lullaby” was a fitting tribute to the celestial transitions of this time of year. It was great to have her back.

We also took a moment to remember Yves Moreau, and we will continue to dance his legacy in future events. You can revisit part of the “Evening with Yves Moreau”, DramskotoĀ  is in the video shared Here, more will follow in the future.

Returning to “The Centrepiece” venue felt like coming home. Eliene Piccardi’s artistry added an extra layer of beauty to our gathering, reminding us of the harmonious blend of art and dance.

Looking forward, our next event, “The Spirit of Winter,” will usher in the colder months with a captivating story and special guests from TikTok – Simona Evoli, as well as Barbara Swetina and Shakeh Major Tchilingirian. It’s an exciting time for us all!

Before we delve into Winter’s embrace, there’s still time to join some wonderful sessions, including prayer dances with Swedish teacher Pia Lamberth (Bookings will be open until an hour before) . And don’t miss the upcoming seminar by Friedel Kloke Eibl, “Roots of Sacred Dance,” a treasure of an opportunity to dance together as a loving, thriving community. See links below…

Below is a list of the dances presented during our recent event, and please feel free to reach out to “The Centrepiece” or the presenters for more information. The Peace Prayer which I read for world peace is shown below.

As for me, I’m eagerly preparing for my journey to Germany in October. I want to extend my deepest thanks to those who have generously contributed to my GoFundMe campaign, making this trip possible. Your support has not only enriched my dancing but also my teaching.

I also want to express my heartfelt gratitude to those who continue to contribute to “The Centrepiece.” This event is a labour of love, created for you, our cherished community. Your emails of appreciation warm our hearts and inspire us to keep dancing together.

I look forward to sharing more updates on my dancing and teaching sessions, both online and in-person.

With Love From Scotland.

Blessings

Brant
