Welcome to
The Centrepiece
Saturday 25th July 2026
@ 19:30pm UK TIME

Dear Dancers,
It has been a wonderfully busy May and June, and I have been thoroughly enjoying the glorious sunshine we’ve been blessed with here in Scotland. We’ve had such beautiful weather, apart from one spectacular thunderstorm, which felt very much needed. I think the plants were certainly grateful for the refreshing rain!
Nature has been full of life. There have been lots of baby gulls around the area, and the deer have been making regular appearances both in the park and in the forests along the beautiful River Findhorn. It always feels like such a gift to witness the changing seasons and the abundance they bring.
Speaking of beautiful moments, we had a lovely Sunday afternoon on the dancing green just outside the arts centre for World Circle Dance Day. Together, we danced the three designated global dances, and it has been incredibly moving to see videos popping up on Facebook showing communities all over the world doing the exact same thing. It truly highlights our global connection. I’ve included a video of our own dance along with a photo from Sunday below for you to enjoy!
We’ve also welcomed many visitors from around the world over the past few weeks. One particularly special encounter was with a lovely woman who remembered me from my days living at Cluny House, long before I had even begun teaching dance! It brought back such fond memories. I found myself remembering my dear friend Shams and the joyful times we spent dancing together in the meditation room.
Those moments remain very close to my heart.
Now our attention turns towards the next “The Centrepiece” on 25th July, a “Bonnie (beautiful) Midsummer Celebration” Together we’ll gather the light and warmth of this special season, carrying it with us as summer begins its gentle journey towards autumn.
Through dance, music and community, we’ll kindle the inner flame of inspiration and joy, tending it carefully so it continues to glow brightly through autumn, winter and into the seasons beyond….
The Centrepiece is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.

Summer is certainly heating up, and there are so many wonderful opportunities to dance together in person…
One I would especially love to share is the International Summer School in beautiful Bad Herrenalb with Friedel Kloke Eibl and Saskia Kloke. It is filling up quickly, but I know there are still a few places available.
Opportunities to dance with them are always very special, so if you’ve been considering it, now is the perfect time. I’m sure Friedel and Saskia would be delighted to welcome you, the details here
Here in Scotland we’ve also been dancing outside on the Dance Green, making the most of the beautiful weather. This week has been especially lovely, with returning friends and new guests joining us.
I had the pleasure of teaching alongside Peter Vallance and Renata C, and we welcomed dancers from Ireland, Japan, Brazil, France and Belgium. It always reminds me what a truly international and heart centred community we are. Its also been wonderful teaching in local groups and my Forres group.
Alongside the dancing, I’ve also enjoyed singing several times over the past few weeks with Barbara Swetina who has some lovely offerings on her website here, as well as reconnecting with our local Sufi chant group. It’s been wonderful to spend time again with familiar faces after such a busy period.
Another exciting focus has been preparing dances for my upcoming visit to the SunFlower Festival in Portugal. I’m really looking forward to sharing meditation dances there and more and spending time with what promises to be a wonderful gathering. The festival has an inspiring line up of presenters, and I can’t wait to be part of it.
Looking a little further ahead, I’m already beginning to dream about what our Centrepiece will bring in 2027. I hope to have something exciting to share by Christmas, so do watch this space!
I’m also hoping to make another trip to Germany to dance with Friedel and Saskia in the coming months. The International Summer School is certainly tempting, and we’ll see what unfolds.
Until we meet again, may the warmth and light of summer stay with you, wherever you are. I look forward to dancing with many of you soon.
Hugs from Scotland
Brant
P.S. Our Centrepiece evenings are offered with love and are sustained by the generosity of our community. If these gatherings have touched your heart and you feel moved to give something back, a donation, large or small, helps us continue to share the dances, the music and the spirit of coming together. Every contribution is received with sincere gratitude. Thank you for keeping the dance alive.
